Making Parquet Flooring

The length and width of your room are of course careful to meet in meters and centimeters. For the surface in m² of your room, simply multiply the length by the width. We recommend adding 5% of the total obtained for falls and for safety as many walls are not straight.
Each floor is sold in a box which is a specific operation. At the time of your order, simply indicate your area in square meters and our calculator will automatically translate into the number of boxes needed.
Prepare your soil
The surface on which to place your floor must be completely dry and flat. If necessary, straighten your floor with a plaster patching. If your tile is new, be aware that, under ideal conditions, 1 cm of concrete needs to dry one week.
Once the prepared soil, your floor should remain at least 48 hours at room temperature before being placed.

1 / Laying of floating parquet is easier to achieve.

Start by placing strips of plastic film that will prevent rising damp..Overlap the edges and get them back by 5 cm along the walls..Attach the strips together using adhesive tape.

2 / The glued
This method is particularly recommended for installation:
the parquet floor heating on a low temperature,
Solid wood floors, where you can choose the pose nailed.
More delicate than floating installation, the installation is stuck rather reserved for professionals or hobbyists notified.
Start by preparing your soil like floating installation.
If you lay your floor on a heated floor, turn off the heat one day prior to installation. Make sure your soil is dry enough (2% maximum humidity) and work in a ventilated room.
Paste the parquet on the floor using a notched trowel. Be sure to use the adhesive recommended for each of our floors. Immediately clean any stains of glue on the surface of the floor.
For the installation of your floor, proceed as for installing a floating floor.
Once the installation is complete, to improve adhesion, it is advisable to put a weight on the floor (not open box or other flooring), especially where the traffic is heaviest.
Wait 24 hours before restarting the floor heating. Set it so that the temperature at the surface of your floor never exceeds 27 ° c. The temperature should, in turn, be between 18 and 24 ° C, at the risk of deforming your floor.

3 / Laying nailed
This method is for solid wood flooring. It is to set the floor with headless nails 60 mm on joists spaced at 40 cm or a former prosecutor.
Nail the first row of floorboards at right angles to the joists, groove to the wall and as close to it, while respecting the expansion joint.
To nail, push the nail at an angle through the tongue and using a nail set so that the next board to fit smoothly. Do this for your entire surface.
When installing the floor is finished, remove the shims and install the baseboards without pressure they exert on the floor.
Properly maintain your floor
Most of our floors, whether the floor bamboo, teak parquet, parquet oak or parquet floor, received a varnish factory. Maintenance is easy. Vacuum, mop and dry with cloth from time to time, a little mop will be sufficient to the daily maintenance of your floor.

After a few years, you may want to renovate your floor. In this case, sand it lightly and finish with a varnish, a lacquer, oil or wax.
