Beyond aesthetics, the choice of a wood floor is also based on its qualities ”technical”. Each blade is unique and every type of wood has its own characteristics: hardness, durability, impact resistance and appearance. Entirely made of wood, the name “Parquet“ is reserved for products which the wear layer (top of the blade) is composed of at least 2.5-mm fine wood.
Hardwood or parquet?
The parquet is the result of the assembly of three layers of wood:the top layer of fine wood also known as “siding” (2) receives the finishing (1): natural look, brushed, matte, smoked, pickled, varnished or oiled the central core (3) the floor is made of slats or particle board orfiber high-density against the siding, (4) or against-swing, usually composed of a layer of resinous wood, used to stabilize the blade.
